|
|
I wanted to implement a discount for customer payment on time. I can only work out how to apply this in the terms in the customer file. I know MYOB automatically apply the discount if the account is paid on time, but I would like the customer to see on the invoice - that if they pay on time the price is this in $ value. For late payment this is the cost in $ value. This way they can see they save by paying on time. |

I have since spoken to a MYOB insider who confirmed it was impossible with the currents programs. The only option is as amtaylor suggests to customise the invoice form to include the comment of x% discount for early payment. So the customer will have to pull out their calculator to figure out what the payment is |

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but we tried this years ago and found the majority took the discount but didn't pay any earlier.
The end result was we were really just lowering our charges and profit margin.
The cost of trying to recover the 'Discounts' that should never have been taken in the first place was more problems than we needed so we discontinued the offer.
In times past it was usual for many businesses to accept the customer deducting 2.5% if paying by the first of the month but many customers abused the system so it was discontinued.
Good luck if your go ahead with this. |
